The museum includes:
• memorial office of an outstanding scientist and designer academician Vladimir Nikolaevich Chelomey;
• museum of the Company’s history and achievements;
• demonstration hall of the missiles and space rocket equipment designed and developed by the Company.
MEMORIAL OFFICE OF VLADIMIR NIKOLAEVICH CHELOMEY
On the vividly illustrated stands one can find information about an outstanding designer of missiles and space rocketry, his scientific and social activities, recognition and awards.
The former office of V.N.Chelomey has been recreated as it looked in the period of 1958-1961, when first space systems and launch vehicles were conceived there. The wax figure of V.N. Chelomey is seating at the writing desk.
In a small comfortable cinema hall it is possible to see movies dedicated to the Designer General
and his contribution into the country defense power.
There are also gifts to V.N.Chelomey and some memorable products issued by 100-th anniversary of his birth l.
MUSEUM OF THE COMPANY’S HISTORY AND ACHIEVEMENTS
The museum displays all missile and space rocketry equipment developed within 70 years of the Company’s life. They are exhibited at the main thematic divisions of the museum.
The Company’s history site
The Company’s history is shown on the stands, each dedicated to a certain period of its evolution. The photos and brief descriptions tell about the main events in the Company’s life. Under the stand glass one can see archive documents, as well as exhibits of a particular period.
Missiles site
Here it is possible to see models of cruise missiles for various applications starting from the first glide-bombs and up to modern missile systems. Guests can also examine scaled-down dummies of these missiles carriers: ships, submarines, as well as mobile and stationary launchers.
Space systems site
The site presents models of space vehicles from the first rocket gliders up to the modern Earth remote sensing systems, from vehicles designed to land at the Moon up to the manned orbital stations.
There are two valuable exhibits here: the globes used by V.N. Chelomey to explain to the country’s leaders about basic principles of the space systems operation.
Ballistic missiles site
This site displays models of the first universal intercontinental ballistic missile (IBM) UR-200, mass destruction IBMs: from UR-100 up to UR-100N UTTKh currently available for combat operation. Launch vehicles: heavy UR-500Ę «Proton» and super heavy UR-700, as well as other interesting exhibits.
Hall of glory
The excursion ends up at the site, which displays awards of the Company and its employees along with information about multifold life of its community.
DEMONSTARTION HALL OF MISSILES AND SPACE ROCKETRY
The hall of glory presents:
• models of cruise missiles designed to arm naval ships and submarines, aircraft platforms and costal defense complexes;
• orbital stations and space vehicles for military and space applications;
• launch vehicle “Strela” based on IBM UR-100N UTTKh.
